elete Donates Electrolytes for Missouri Tornado Victims

Ogden, UT (PRWEB) June 17, 2011
As the people of Joplin, Missouri struggle to rebuild their lives and community following the devastating tornado that struck May 23, 2011, killing an estimated 139 individuals and resulting in millions of dollars of property damage, elete electrolytes™ has shipped a product donation of its elete Electrolyte Add-In™ through Nourish America, a non-profit organization that provides nourishing foods and supplements to people in need in America. Nourish America has established a disaster relief site just outside of Joplin in Seneca, MO.
elete donated its original elete Electrolyte Add-In formula, which is a pure electrolyte concentrate that can be used to make electrolyte water or a customized sports drink, in the following quantities:
·    35,000, 10 milliliter (mL) rip packs. These 10-mL rip packs are to be added to one gallon of drinking water and make electrolyte water with sports-drink levels of essential electrolytes including sodium, chloride, potassium, plus magnesium, which support hydration and heat tolerance
·    5,500, 6.45-mL rip packs. Each of these rip packs can be added to standard-size hydration packs
·    219, 8 oz. bottles for making large mixes of electrolyte water or drink
elete’s donation was shipped June 3, 2001. Further, United Parcel Service participated in the relief effort by generously waiving its shipping costs, which totaled close to $500.
“We are pleased to have the chance to demonstrate our care and concern for the people of Missouri through Nourish America,” said Val John Anderson, Executive Vice-President and Director of Sales and Marketing for elete. “Disaster clean up in the hardest hit areas will require hard work in hot, humid conditions, and we are pleased to keep these individuals hydrated and functioning in peak condition. elete electrolytes are compact, ship well, and deliver rapid, noticeable results. We at elete Electrolytes thank Nourish America for organizing this relief effort and distributing necessary supplies to the community. We also thank UPS for their generosity in shipping this donation free of charge.”
“In our experience, during a natural disaster, there are specific products that bring immediate relief to both first responders as well as disaster victims, elete Electrolytes is one of them. Electrolytes are one of the top items on our wish list when we initiate a disaster relief effort so this donation is both valued and appreciated. Many thanks to everyone at elete for helping us at Nourish America support the health and wellbeing of the families and workers at Joplin, MO as they heal and rebuild,” said Michael Morton, Executive Director of Nourish America.
elete Electrolyte Add-In was listed by Paul S. Auerbach, M.D., M.S., author of Medicine for the Outdoors and Past-President of the Wilderness Medical Society, as one of his top four items of medical equipment, which he used extensively as part of his assignment in Haiti for the International Medical Corps. Bonavitas R12 Recovery Drink Sets New Standard

Provo, UT (PRWEB) June 22, 2011

Bonavitas announced today that it will soon launch R12, a natural recovery drink and signature product in its natural energy and recovery line. R12 contains powerful plants and superfruits known for their detoxifying and healing properties, which give it one of the highest antioxidant values of any recovery drink on the market.

Antioxidants are our best defense against aging and illness. They help our bodies fight disease, fatigue and mental decline. The total ORAC FN value of a food or drink (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity, measured in umol TE/serving) indicates its antioxidant capacity. According to test results by third-party Brunswick Labs, R12 has a total ORAC FN value of 46,400 umol TE/serving. By comparison, a leading recovery drink currently on the market has a total ORAC FN value of just over 16,000 umol TE/serving – almost two-thirds less than R12.

R12’s main ingredients:
12 superfruits which are natural sources of Vitamin C, flavonoids and other antioxidants.

Cinnamon bark which actually contains calcium, chromium, copper, iodine, iron, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, zinc, and vitamins A, Bi, B2, and C.

Quercetin is found to be the most active of the flavonoids in studies and many medicinal plants owe much of their healing activity to their high quercetin content.

“Because of the rainbow of superfoods we’ve strategically used to formulate it, R12 boasts an unequaled ORACFN value,” said Alexandra Paul, scientist and inventor of the Bonavitas line of all-natural nutritional beverages. “This facilitates faster recovery and healing while promoting an overall sense of well-being.”

Visit Bonavitas for more information about R12 recovery drink.

Encore Performance of Award Winning Show, Scared Skinny, Offered July...

New York, NY (PRWEB) June 15, 2011

Adam Roebuck Productions, an Off-Off Broadway theater company, is offering an encore performance of Mary Dimino’s award winning show, Scared Skinny, on July 3rd at 5PM at the Roy Arias Theater Center’s Off Broadway Theater in Midtown, Manhattan. Italian American comedian, Mary Dimino, chronicles her colorful childhood and her quest to lose 115 pounds over the course of the show. The Winner of the 2008 Gracie Allen Award presented by American Women in Radio and Television, Dimino also earned the 2010 New York International Fringe Festival Overall Excellence Award for Outstanding Solo Show for Scared Skinny.

“We are honored to bring back to the stage Mary Dimino’s award winning performance to the stage and hope the audience leaves the show with a little ‘lighter’ attitude towards their weight challenges,” said Adam Roebuck, artistic director of Adam Roebuck Productions.

As a chubby Italian American child growing up in Queens, Mary Dimino was warned by her mother that playing in a sandbox could lead to venereal disease and cautioned by her “perverted” knife wielding grandmother to stay away from all boys and dogs. Eating sausage and pepper sandwiches for lunch (with a cannoli for dessert), she suffered acute humiliation from her peers. Yet when she was only 8 years old, the realization of Mary’s dream, to one day be skinny, was foretold on a Ouiga board. Still an obese virgin at age 26, Mary had an epiphany when she overheard two “Guidos” from Brooklyn making merciless fun of her. Angry and determined, she faced her fears and after a number of false starts, finally fulfilled the destiny of her Ouiga board. One hundred and fifteeen pounds later, Mary Dimino tells the amazing and hilarious journey behind her remarkable achievement.

The Wall Street Journal said, "She shares her story of weight loss and maturation with riotously funny delivery. With her cherubic face and energetic sweetness, she is a natural comedic performer. Scared Skinny is a tale of personal triumph that anyone can relate to--and be entertained by, “ and "Mary Dimino exemplifies the hard work people do to lose pounds and stay healthy. I'm one of her biggest fans,“ Meredith Vieira, NBC’s Today Show.

Tickets for Scared Skinny are available for purchase with credit card for $20 at http://www.AdamsTickets.com. They will also be available at the door of the theater, located at the Roy Arias Theater Center, Times Square Arts Center, 300 West 43rd Street, between 8th & 9th Avenues, 5th floor, 30 minutes prior to curtain for $20, cash only.

Between June 21st and July 3rd, Adam Roebuck Productions is also offering 24 performances of the following plays at the Roy Arias Theater Center’s Off Broadway Theater: Reefer Mandess by Sean Abley, Up To Date by Laura Shamas, and The Wizard of Oz by Kathryn Schultz Miller. Tickets can be purchased at http://www.AdamsTickets.com for $18 online with credit card or $15 at the door.

Brothers-All-Natural Announces the “Eat Healthier America” Campaign,...

Rochester, NY (PRWEB) June 14, 2011

Choosing snacks that are healthy, such as Brothers-All-Natural Fruit Crisps, is a crucial component for a well-balanced diet. To assist the national discussion regarding healthy snacking options for children, as well as healthy snacking alternatives for adults, Brothers-All-Natural is launching a public relations campaign aimed at getting America to eat healthier. Please visit the “Eat Healthier America” campaign web page on their website at: http://www.BrothersAllNatural.com/HEALTHY .

Brothers-All-Natural Fruit Crisps are the perfect solution to poor snacking choices. These low calorie fruit snacks provide a healthy snack for kids and adults that are high in fiber and high in antioxidants. The USRDA recommends a minimum of five servings of fruit and vegetables each day, and Brothers-All-Natural Fruit Crisps provide two of these five servings in a single bag. Brothers-All-Natural desires to draw attention to choosing the healthy snack option that is both nutritious and delicious. The “Eat Healthier America” public relations campaign is seeking to promote various healthy habits, many of which involve choosing the right foods to eat and the proper portion sizes.

Providing healthy snacks for young children is not always easy, because the snack must be tasty enough for the child to desire as well as providing high quality nutrition. Brothers-All-Natural Fruit Crisps are the answer to this problem as they are healthy snacks made from delicious fruit, 100% fruit with no additives or preservatives. Not only are these Fruit Crisps a healthy snack for weight loss in that they contain less than 80 calories per bag, but they are also a gluten free snack for those with health issues such as Celiac disease. Additionally, Fruit Crisps are also dairy and casein free for those suffering from Autism or those with lactose intolerance. Kids with food allergies are also delighted to discover that they too can eat these healthy snacks, because they contain no peanuts or tree nuts.

Matt Betters, Co-CEO of Brothers International Food Corporation the parent company of Brothers-All-Natural, made the following comments in relation to getting children to eat healthy. “As a parent I know all of the challenges involved in getting children to eat healthy snacks,” said Matt Betters. “It was a challenge for this company to find the best fruit in the world, and it was an even larger challenge to develop a state-of-the-art freeze-drying facility to meet all of the quality standards we were self-imposing. However these challenges paled in comparison to getting my own kids to eat their fruit and vegetables every day. Happily we were able to solve all of these problems when we created Brothers-All-Natural Fruit Crisps.”

Brothers-All-Natural offers ten varieties of healthy freeze-dried fruit: apple, apple-cinnamon, banana, peach, pear, pineapple, strawberry-banana, organic whole strawberry, mixed berry including blueberries and raspberries plus 2 more berry types, and the very tart mandarin orange. Brothers-All-Natural Fruit Crisps provide healthy snacks for diabetes and other health issues because they are 100% fruit and nothing else with no added sugar and no preservatives. Fruit Crisps provide healthy snack ideas for lunches and healthy snacks for after school too.

Remember to “Eat Healthier America!” by choosing Brothers-All-Natural 100% fruit snacks. For more information about the “Eat Healthier America” campaign and Brothers-All-Natural’s fun healthy kid snacks, please visit their website at: http://www.BrothersAllNatural.com/HEALTHY

Pentec Health Launches Proprietary Physician Portal

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (PRWEB) June 20, 2011

Pentec Health Inc., today announced the launch of their proprietary, online physician portal which provides physicians and their staff secure 24/7 access to their patients’ medical information that resides in Pentec Health’s electronic medical record (EMR) system. The Pentec Physician Portal was developed in response to a known need for secure, accurate, and timely data so physicians can better monitor the progress of patients receiving treatments at home.

The Pentec Physician Portal provides HIPAA-compliant, two-way electronic communication of prescriptions or plan of treatment changes for patients being treated with implanted pumps for severe pain and/or spasticity. The Pentec Physician Portal is fed by the company’s proprietary Point-of-Care EMR used by the nursing staff during patient visits and provides a graphic display of the patient’s health compared to their plan of treatment objectives. Detailed notes about patient spasticity and pain levels, medication dosing levels, and physical assessments also are available.

“Our nurses have the ability to see the patients far more often than the doctors, who typically only see them for a refill visit. Giving the physicians access to what our nurses are seeing between refill visits provides a more comprehensive view of the patient’s changing condition and ultimately puts the physician in a better place to improve outcomes,” said Michael Abens, General Manager and Executive Vice President of Specialty Infusion Services. “Information is power. We recognize the value of our EMR system, but the true value lies in extending it to our physicians to help improve the lives of the patients they entrust to us.”

In discussing the system, Tim Leffler, Chief Information Officer, explained, “Our aim was to mimic the paper-based system that was in place, which was already familiar to physicians and nurses, and develop an electronic system to collect and amalgamate that information. Pentec’s value proposition is uniquely enhanced in the marketplace. Through the use of our proprietary Physician Portal, we are providing a stronger physician-patient–provider relationship.”

A series of future enhancements to the Pentec Physician Portal also are underway, including patient outcomes research that will compare physicians’ patient population with that of their colleagues. Also under development is a patient portal that will provide patients and their families immediate access to their primary nurse, and relevant and substantiated literature about their health condition.

About Pentec Health, Inc.
Pentec Health Inc., headquartered in suburban Philadelphia, is the largest privately held specialty infusion services company in the United States. The Joint Commission has consistently awarded Pentec with a Gold Seal of Approval for their commitment to providing the highest level of patient safety and patient care for renal nutritional and specialty infusion home care services.
